Should I Use a Local Submission Hub? Here’s When It Makes Sense

This article is written for Local Submission Customers and TCG Parents, but it’s also helpful for any UK collector looking for a safer, simpler way to submit cards.
What is an MGC Local Submission Hub?
MGC’s official Local Submission Hubs are trusted card shops and hobby stores across the UK where you can drop off your cards for grading with Majesty Grading Company (MGC). Instead of posting your cards to us directly, you hand them over in person – and the shop sends them to us securely as part of a regular batch.
It’s one of the easiest ways to grade cards in the UK, especially if you’re nervous about mailing them yourself.
When does using a Local Submission Hub make sense?
This option isn’t right for everyone – but for many people, it’s the best way to get started. Here are some of the most common situations where using a Local Submission Hub is a great idea:
1. You’re nervous about posting valuable or sentimental cards
Posting cards can feel risky – especially if you’re grading something special or you’re new to the hobby. Whether it’s a first Charizard pull, a birthday gift, or your child’s favourite Pokémon, handing it over in person gives that extra peace of mind. Your cards stay in the UK, go out in a tracked batch, and are handled by people who care.
2. You want help with the submission process
If this is your first time grading, a Local Submission Hub can guide you through it. The shop staff can explain what you need, show you how to package your cards, and even help you decide which cards are worth grading. For TCG Parents and Casual Fans especially, this support can make all the difference.
3. You want to support your local card shop
Every Local Submission Hub earns a small commission for each submission – so by grading through them, you’re directly supporting the community. It’s a win-win: your cards get graded, and your local store gets something back too.
4. You live near a partnered store
If you’ve searched “how to grade cards near me” or “local card grading UK”, chances are there’s already an MGC partner shop nearby. You can check our live list of hubs and find one that’s easy to visit during your usual errands or weekend outings.
5. You prefer face-to-face interactions
Some collectors just like dealing with people in person. Whether it’s asking questions, seeing what others are grading, or just having a chat with someone who gets it – local stores create a more personal grading experience.
When might posting cards directly be better?
If you’re an experienced collector, live far from a submission hub, or want to use one of our premium services, posting directly might suit you better. That said, many advanced collectors still use their local hub for convenience – especially during promotions or when submitting bulk lots.
